Over one in 20 new cars registered in Canada in 2021 were EVs

IHS Markit 2021 year-end report shows that zero-emission vehicles’ share of registrations in 2021 was a robust 5.6 percent, up from 3.8 per cent in 2020, as provinces with EV sales incentives led the way.

Ram's upcoming EV will come in a range-extender version, too

Most of America’s major truck manufacturers are working feverishly on an all-electric pickup, with efforts spewing forth from GM, Ford, and Rivian (and yes, Elon fans, Tesla — eventually). Notably absent from the EV table is Ram, though a conversation at last week’s Chicago Auto Show may have given insight as to why that is so.

Our Next Energy tests 1 210 Km battery pack in a Tesla Model S

A two-year-old Michigan startup, Our Next Energy (ONE), has built a custom battery pack that recently propelled a modified Tesla Model S for 752 miles (1 210 Km). John Voelcker, writing in Car and Driver, reports that ONE retrofitted the car with a pack that stores twice the energy of Tesla’s original, and fits in exactly the same space.

Lincoln to launch full slate of electric SUVs by 2026: sources

Ford is stepping up plans to extensively electrify its Lincoln brand in North America, as it prepares to introduce at least five new battery-powered Lincoln sport-utility vehicles through 2026, three people familiar with the plans told Reuters.
