Canada needs to significantly ramp up investment in public EV charging infrastructure

In last week’s federal budget, the government said its investment to date in electric vehicle charging infrastructure totals $376 million. That includes $226 million spent between 2016 and 2020 and a further $150 million committed through 2024 in last December’s Fall Economic Statement.

Rolls-Royce and Tecnam to deliver electric aircraft to Scandinavian airline in 2026

Rolls-Royce and Italian aeronautics manufacturer Tecnam are joining forces to deliver an all-electric passenger aircraft for the commuter market. The new plane is expected to go into revenue service with Widerøe, a regional airline serving Scandinavia, in 2026.

New electric Toyota SUV, first of a new BEV line, unveiled in Shanghai

At this week’s Auto Shanghai motor show, Toyota unveiled a concept version of a new electric SUV, the bZ4X, which will be the first in a new line of battery-electric vehicles. The Japanese giant now says it plans to introduce 15 BEV models by 2025, including 7 models in the bZ series (the name stands for “beyond zero”).
