Montreal adds 100 electric Bixis to fleet, will cost $1 extra per ride
Flashy blue Bixis began whizzing around the streets of Montreal on Monday as 100 of the new electric bikes were added to the bike-share’s fleet.
This decision comes after a successful pilot project from 2018.
“Electric Bixis will allow even more Montrealers to move around by bike, since hills and distance will no longer be an obstacle,” said Mayor Valérie Plante at a news conference for the launch. As she wrapped up her speech, a sports car loudly sped by. “Woah,” Plante said. “We’d like for him to be on a Bixi!”
