Are hybrids primed to outshine full EVs?
As the transition to electrification moves past the early-adopter phase, lower-cost hybrids are seeing a resurgence.
It’s been a tough couple of weeks for electric vehicles in North America. Oh, Tesla (almost) made its numbers, but even so, the world’s leader in battery-powered vehicles is, if the Wall Street Journal is to be believed, hurting.
Third-quarter profits are down 44 per cent year-over-year, and Elon Musk is – again, if WSJ’s analysts have it right – contemplating “hitting the brakes on EVs” as interest rates, range anxiety, and economic uncertainty take their toll on even electric-vehicle sales.
