How the 2024 Tonale is going to save Alfa Romeo
Never one to follow trends, the storied Italian brand is taking its own road to plugging in its hybrid sport-ute.
Alfa Romeo Tonale 2024: This is the car that is going to save Alfa Romeo. I know! You’ve heard this all before. The Guilia and Stelvio were both lauded as saviours of the brand. Ditto the 4C. Before that, it was the stillborn Spider-neé-Mazda-Miata.
And, if you’re as old as me, the 164 was likewise supposed to be Alfa reborn. All were going to save Alfa. All failed.
That’s mainly because they all were, in their own special way, flawed. The 4C, as beautifully engineered as it was, was possibly the most impractical car ever designed.
