Lexus plug-in hybrid to hit North America soon, followed by full EV in 2022
Plans for Lexus to bring a plug-in hybrid model to North America in 2021, with a fully electric model to follow shortly after, surfaced at the end of May, revealing the pacing of the luxury brand’s electrification scheme.
The news follows in the wake of Lexus celebrating a benchmark of two million electrified-vehicle sales globally, explains Green Car Reports.
Most of the vehicles sold by Lexus were hybrid models. The brand hopes to offer electrified powertrain options for each of its models by 2025.
